Within the framework of this survey, all participants had to perform the same tasks on each site assessed. The main functionalities tested cover the key dimensions proposed by a cybermarket.

Assessed functional dimensions

Ability to make a simple and quick purchase of specific products.

A quantitative/qualitative mix and a  representative sample ensure reliable results.

Quantitative behavioural survey : 200 participants representative of the target assessed each Web site, representing a total sample of 1,000 people. This sample was carefully selected by CIAO Surveys, which was responsible for sampling and programming based on a profile established from criteria corresponding to "standard" profiles of cybermarket customers.

Qualitative behavioural survey : 30 participants from the target assessed each Web site with individual qualitative user tests. Based on information from the quantitative part, each person performed comparable tasks, but above all reported any difficulties met while browsing.
